A Family Legacy

Water Street Bakery and Deli, formerly known as Bun King, was a new addition to the Summerside scene when Bill took ownership in November 1989. He started with a small but dedicated team of two bakers and two full-time front staff working together to create delicious treats. He added a small sub and sandwich counter in the hopes that it would take off.

In 1995, the bakery underwent its first major renovation, increasing the counter space for subs, sandwiches, pizza by the slice, Ubake, and We Bake Pizza. This move proved a stroke of genius, drawing in a broader range of customers and establishing Water Street Bakery and Deli as a go-to lunch spot.

Over the years, Water Street Bakery and Deli has consistently expanded its offerings, adding soups, hot lunches, casseroles, and other mouthwatering treats. Each addition has been met with enthusiasm by the community, who have come to rely on the bakery for its consistently high-quality food and friendly service from a staff of 4 to now over 30.

Looking to the future, the next chapter in Water Street Bakery and Deli's story will involve passing the torch to the next generation. Bill and Josette's children are ready to take on the legacy of exceptional customer service and delectable products their parents have worked hard to build. With a commitment to maintaining the same high standards that have defined the bakery for decades, they are ready to ensure that Water Street Bakery and Deli remains a cherished part of the Summerside community for many years.
